Cast of Sound of Music,

    All through yesterday and this morning Mara and I have been talking nonstop about what a wonderful experience this was. Alyssa had done things in the past but never was there the sense of family that we experienced here.  The costume moms working together to help one another and chatting and laughing together; it was so nice. The nuns always with a warm smile. Ginny no matter how busy she was would stop, look intently at you and listen to every word you said when you asked her a question. Don is a warm and congenial man.  The children all smart, sincere, polite, respectful. Nancy taking Abigail in the wings with her and letting her be involved. Those young people in the crew who were running very important parts of the show as if they had been doing it forever. Samantha (Elsa)  going out of her way to offer to put makeup on the men and the children. Barbara came off stage yesterday and apologized to Alyssa for being late for a scene...can you imagine adults in most shows APOLOGIZING to a kid for something ???  I can't.  Anthony sitting at that table playing "set" with Olivia (another angel) for all that time. Denis never acting as if he was "The Star" of the show. I mean I could go on here all day. 

    When we were going through the audition process I got the feeling... "ok all these people are from Long Beach and we aren't so....... I guess we wont be getting a part here"  Well we wound up with THREE parts and were never made to feel like outsiders. That cast party last night....  what amazingly gracious hosts and what a tremendous effort. The only real problem I had with the whole show was my brother wearing my shoes but that is my own cross to bear. 

    I can't say thank you enough. I am creating a distribution list through my email account for "The Sound of Music" and I think it would be great if we could keep each other abreast of what we have going on in the future. I for one would love the opportunity to come and see all you gifted people perform in the future wherever that may be.  Thanks again.
